At our routine 20 week ultrasound, the doctors discovered an abnormality with baby Will's heart. He was diagnosed with AV canal defect (a hole through the middle of his heart), double outlet right ventrical, overriding aorta, and pulmonary stenosis. Some doctors refer to this combination of defects as Tetrology of Fallot with AV canal defect. He had his first corrective surgery at 4 months old on October 19, 2012, and now is monitored closely, hoping to avoid another surgery for as long as possible. While this will be a difficult journey, we are confident that through our medical care and prayers that he will be happy and healthy, just like his big brother Ben.
Thank you for following along on our journey and for any comments or well wishes. They mean more than you can imagine.
I am pleased to read that Will is recovering well. He has my prayers and wishes for a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing harder for parents than to watch their dear little one having to go through what Will has endured.
